According to a media report by The Hindu Businessline, ad rates for the first week of the IPL are not as high as JioStar expected it. The media report added that this is an outcome of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) raids on media agencies last week.

The ad rate JioStar was hoping to get for a 10 second ad on TV was around INR 18-19 lakh. Last year, the price for the same was supposedly INR 16.4 lakhs. This year, the price on TV for HD+SD ads is at around 15-16 lakhs for a 10-seconder.

For smart TVs, the network was expecting to get ad rates for around INR 8-9 lakh for a 10-second ad. However, the team is available for 'hard negotiations' and could be down to INR 6 lakh.  Last year's ad rates for digital were around the same mark. The channel was hoping to earn about 20-30% on digital ad rates

While, the Hindu Businessline article attributed this to the CCI raid, sources revealed to Manifest that there are various reasons for this dip.
