Ogilvy reclaimed its agency of the year accolade during the 2024 edition of the Effie India Awards held in Mumbai on 24 January.
The agency won the accolade last in 2022. This year's award winning tally included three Gold, 16 Silver, and 19 Bronze wins. Two of the Gold wins were for the entry titled 'The Impossible Choice' for St. Jude India ChildCare Centres. The agency also won Gold for Cadbury Celebrations' 'Turning Boys Into Brothers Who Care'.
Leo won the Grand Effie for Acko General Insurance's 'Health Insurance Ki Subah Ho Gayi Mamu', an entry which also won Gold. The agency finished second on the awards tally with four Gold, 14 Silver and 19 Bronze. The other Gold wins were for RedBus' 'Taking the Bus Adda out of the ticketing process', 'How Spotify Created an Artist Movement To Make India Pay for Music' for Spotify, and 'Digitising crops for India's Farmers to help them fight climate change' for Lay's.
McCann Worldgroup India won the most Gold Effies on the night, a total of six. The agency also won eight Silver and 11 Bronze. The Gold wins were for ESAF Bank's 'Saving her savings', Aashirvaad's 'When South Indian Mothers Said Attaboy', Ceregrow's 'Farak Padta Hai', Neobharat's 'Backdrops for the Success Stories of New Bharat', PhonePe's 'When Insurance Went OTT', and Buckaroo's 'Walking Tall: The Buckaroo Story'.
DDB Mudra Group was fourth on the agency tally with a Gold, four Silver and four Bronze wins. The Gold win came for Spotify's 'From accidental discoveries to meet-cutes; how Spotify revolutionised OPM'.
The Womb had a total of eight wins, half of which were Gold. The Gold wins were for Mahindra SUVs' 'It's Time to Talk the Walk', Piramal Finance's 'Neeyat: Budget Bharat's Real Credit Score!', Britannia Pure Magic Chocolush's 'Can a cookie teach you how to live?', and Symphony Coolers' 'The OG Gunda Is Back'.
Brand David Communications won two Gold, two Silver and two Bronze Effies. The Gold wins were for Colgate's 'The Sweet Truth'.
Tgthr also won two Gold Effies. The wins came for Harpic's 'Harpic Loocator - #BeFreeToPee'.
The other Gold winning agency on the night was Enormous. The win was for Rapido's 'Bike Wali Taxi Sabse Saxi'.
Mondelez was the client of the year.
