Zepto has rolled out a teaser which seems to suggest that the quick commerce player is venturing into previously uncharted territory with the 10-minute delivery of - hold on to your seat belts - cars!
The ad film shows a Zepto delivery executive hesitantly walk into a Skoda showroom to ‘pick up’ an order. The showroom employee readily ushers him inside to collect the 'order', and this is where the big reveal happens: The ‘order’ is nothing but a Skoda Kylaq car, wrapped up in the Zepto branding, ready to be collected, transported and delivered - purportedly, within 10 minutes.
The film ends on a suspenseful note, with a promise: ‘Coming soon on 8th Feb!’, without revealing further details of the Zepto-Skoda collaboration. The caption further adds to the build-up with: “Humare pass mixer hai, phone hai, tablet hai, aur abb…,” (We have with us a mixer, phone, tablet, and now…) in a nod to the cult dialogue from the 1975 Bollywood movie Deewaar.
What we think about about it: The ad succeeds in fueling speculation and whipping up frenzy about the Q-comm player's probable foray into rapid delivery of cars, through a Zepto-Škoda tie-up. If true, the move has the potential to disrupt the entire quick commerce space and redefine car buying as we know it - once and for all!
