Adidas, the official kit partner of the Indian cricket team, has rolled out a film ahead of the upcoming Men's T20 ICC World Cup, through which it reveals the jersey the team will be wearing for the tournament.
The film has been conceptualised by Fundamental. It opens with captain and brand ambassador Rohit Sharma, followed by clips of Virat Kohli and Surya Kumar Yadav in the dressing room, as fans start the 'jeetega bhai jeetega' (India will win) chant in the stands. Set against the song, ‘pressure’ by Queen and David Bowie, the film delves into the intense pressure experienced by the team before every match.
What we think about it: While it's not quite the W+K levels for Nike before the big football tournaments (yet to see if the brand has one for the UEFA Euros), it does help create the hype for the tournament. Also, shooting this before the squad for the tournament was released had its cons as the film features Shubman Gill who has not made the cut for the tournament. Overall, we like it and are Manifesting this film to be the start of India's successful World Cup campaign.
