NBC Sports' Espresso Dream campaign

NBCUniversal has rolled out a campaign for NBC Sports featuring singer Sabrina Carpenter to highlight its coverage of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, which begin on 26 July in Paris, France.

In the 60-second ad film (above), the singer, exuberant from an espresso high, tells an imaginary bird, "I've never been more excited about anything in my life." She gleefully mentions the Seine's opening ceremony for the Olympics, Simone Biles' epic comeback, the USA/Australia swimming rivalry, and upcoming races featuring Noah Lyles and Sha'Carri Richardson for Team USA. As the pop star laughs to herself at a Parisian café, a server humorously suggests she might have had a bit too much caffeine. (As if that's even possible!)

Carpenter is the latest celebrity NBC has used to promote the Games, previously releasing promos that included singers Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B and SZA; actress Lily Collins, star of the Netflix show 'Emily in Paris' and American footballer Hofer Peyton Manning.

What we think about it: A delightful blend of Parisian charm and Olympic excitement. Carpenter's energy and the clever use of her hit song 'Espresso' create a vibrant and engaging anticipation for the Paris 2024 Olympics. This campaign successfully taps into Carpenter's widespread appeal, making it a memorable and effective promotion for the Games.

Joseph Lee, senior vice president, creative marketing, sports and entertainment, NBC Universal, said, "Who better than the star of the summer, Sabrina Carpenter, with her chart-topping single ‘Espresso,’ to get everyone excited about the event of the summer, the Paris Olympics. This is the final spot in our celebrity campaign that has generated unprecedented excitement and buzz for the Olympics.”
