Adani Sportsline has rolled out a campaign ahead of the Paris Olympics featuring prominent athletes from the team India contingent.

Conceptualised by 82.5 Communications, the film showcases the gruelling training that these athletes from across disciplines undergo in their preparation for the Olympics podium. The athletes featured include weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, shooter Sift Kaur Samra, field hockey player Manpreet Singh, and table tennis player Sharath Kamal. 

The film draws upon the spirit of national fervour that runs through each of these sportspersons who represent their country on the international stage. The voiceover narrates how these athletes aren’t just preparing for victory but also for the ‘song of victory’ i.e. the National anthem which is played when an athlete wins a laurel for his or her country at the Olympics. 

What we think about it: The campaign, timed to release just weeks before the Paris 2024 Olympics, brings out the nationalistic sentiment that drives the sportspersons who play for India on an international platform such as the Olympics. It manages to depict how the athlete represents not just the individual, but the collective hopes of a billion Indians who long to hear their national anthem being played at the victory podium.
