Puma India's cricket page on X (Puma Cricket) has responded to former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar's comments on its brand ambassador Nitish Kumar Reddy.
The tweet, which contains a picture of Reddy with his finger on his mouth, is a repost of a video on ESPN Cricinfo. In the video, Manjrekar discusses dropping Reddy giving the team a better balance for the ongoing Test match in Melbourne between India and Australia. He questioned whether Reddy can score a 120 in the team, bringing up his first class average, and also his bowling.
Much like the picture, Reddy silenced Manjrekar by scoring 105 not out on day three of the Test match and saving India the blushes.
Puma signed Reddy as brand ambassador in July.
The page has also changed its bio to read: 'This is a Nitish Kumar Reddy fan account'.
