BharatPe's former MD and founder, Ashneer Grover, has taken to social media to clarify his stance on his meeting with actor Salman Khan before signing him as brand ambassador in 2019.
While Grover appeared to be apologetic on the show with Khan, he took to social media to stress that he did indeed meet with the actor on 3 May 2019, also adding that the actor knew about his appearance on Bigg Boss as it didn't come ‘unnamed’, just like the cheque he received.

For context, BharatPe had signed Salman Khan as brand ambassador and released a campaign featuring the actor in 2019.
Later during an interaction with students at Lovely Professional University in 2022 and on a podcast, Grover spoke about how he met with the actor to negotiate a deal worth INR 4.5 crore to sign him on as brand ambassador, even though his asking price was INR 7.5 crore. He detailed how Khan's manager compared his negotiations to sign Khan with that of a vegetable vendor.
When Grover recently made his entry on Bigg Boss, Khan brought up these conversations and questioned the figures cited by him, denying the manner of negotiations the former spoke about. The actor clarified that his team had never negotiated in that manner.
Khan also called out Grover's attitude while speaking about him, chiding him for creating an 'incorrect impression' and labelling it as the latter's 'doglapan' (double standards) which is also the name of a book penned by Grover.
During the interaction, Khan also spoke about his brand endorsement deals with other brands stating that they all have benefitted from partnering with the actor.
