Abhay Ojha, who resigned from his position of chief executive officer, at Zee Media, over the weekend, has shared a LinkedIn post to explain the sequence of events that followed post the announcement.

He stated that the decision came after a 'profound conversation with the promoter on Saturday at 8pm' after which he decided to resign. Ojha joined Zee Media in February 2022 as chief business officer and P&L head for cluster 3. He was elevated as chief executive officer in May 2023. According to Ojha's LinkedIn post he'll be joining a competitor.

Here's his LinkedIn post:

Dear Connections,

This is to share that I made a significant career move. As of this weekend, I have stepped down from my role as CEO at Zee Media by sending a formal resignation.

The decision came after a profound conversation with the promoter on Saturday at 8 PM, which led to my resignation. Although my original terms of appointment included a notice period, the critical nature of my role and my impending shift to a competitor necessitated an immediate handover. Consequently, the management instructed one of the senior leaders to visit my residence at 10:30 PM to collect the company assets, including my laptop.

It's important to address that I continued to fulfill my responsibilities, signing off on the company's banking documents up until 5 PM on that same day.

As I transition into this new chapter, I look forward to letting my connections know the truth and look forward to continue contributing to the industry in new and meaningful ways.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time at Zee Media. I am eager to stay connected and see what the future holds.

Summary of above post-

I wanted to personally inform you all that I have made a significant career move. As of this weekend, I have resigned from my role as CEO at Zee Media. My formal resignation was sent at 8:01 PM on Saturday, May 4th, 2024.

The decision came after a demeaning telephonic conversation with the promoter at 7:55 PM on Saturday, which led to my resignation. However, despite fulfilling my responsibilities, including signing off on the company's banking documents until 5 PM that same day, management stated that my services ceased on Saturday afternoon in an email sent the next morning, Sunday at 9:05 AM.

I want to assure you all that I am committed to sharing the truth and continuing to contribute to the industry in new and meaningful ways. Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time at Zee Media. I am eager to stay connected and see what the future holds.
