Godrej Industries Group introduced a refreshed corporate identity, unveiled on 22 April, alongside a renewed push toward future revenue growth.
The rebrand, developed by the group’s in-house design team Disco, marking a shift in how the conglomerate presents itself as it aligns with evolving business ambitions.

However, the new logo has drawn attention for its apparent resemblance to that of Guerrilla, an independent agency based in Australia.
This integrated end-to-end agency was founded in 2002.
The similarity was brought to Manifest’s attention by industry sources, pointing to overlaps in overall form, typographic treatment and visual structure, prompting comparisons between the two identities.

Australian agency Guerrilla's identity
While overlaps in design language are not uncommon, particularly in minimalist and typographic-led branding, the likeness has raises a question around originality and differentiation in corporate identity design especially for a rebranded identity of a 129-year old legacy brand.
Furthermore, following the unveiling, when Godrej Industries Group shared a video of the new logo on Instagram, some users were quick to point out its resemblance to Guerrilla in the comments.
The rebrand comes at a time when Godrej Industries Group is looking to sharpen its positioning across businesses and appeal to a more contemporary, globally attuned audience.
Whether the conversation around the logo remains limited to industry observation or develops further will depend on how both companies respond in the coming days.
At the time of writing this story, Manifest has reached out to Godrej for a statement and will update this story as responses are received.
