94% Indians believe that government and tech companies should protect election integrity: Adobe 

The report also revealed that Indians have curtailed usage of particular social media platforms because of misinformation.

According to an Adobe report, misinformation is one of the biggest threats facing society.

Adobe collaborated with Advanis to gather responses from 2,056 Indians, 81% of which stated that they fear the content they consume online could be altered to fuel misinformation. An equal percentage also said that it is becoming difficult to verify whether the content they are consuming online is trustworthy.

45% of the respondents also stated that they have stopped or curtailed their use of a specific social media platform due to the amount of misinformation on it.

During election season, 86% of the respondents stated that misinformation and harmful deepfakes will impact future elections.

82% of them believed that election candidates should be prohibited from using generative AI in their promotional content.

94% of the respondents believed that governments and technology companies should work together to protect election integrity against the detrimental effects of deepfakes and misinformation. 92% stated that it is essential that they have the right tools to verify if online content is trustworthy.

93% of the respondents stated that they want to know if the content they are consuming is generated using AI. 94% of Indians stated that children should be taught media literacy skills as part of their school curriculum.
