Political advertisements during the upcoming Maharashtra assembly election spiked by 145% on television in October 2024 compared to September 2023, according to the latest TAM AdEx report based on ads a month earlier than the current and previous elections period.
However, print publications witnessed a decline in ad insertions by 12% in October over September 2023.
Political ads on radio also saw a 9% dip during the corresponding period, the report revealed.
On TV, the Congress-I party dominates the assembly election campaign advertising with a 58% share in Oct 2024, while the BJP stands second in terms of ad duration share with a 35% and 19% share in Sep 2023 and Oct 2024 respectively.

In print, the BJP took the top spot in the advertising list with a 47% share of ad space in Oct 2024 and 39% share in Sep 2023.

Shivsena (Balasebanchi) was the second political party in terms of ad spaces in print during October 2024, and Congress during Sep 2023.
On radio, the national parties BJP and Congress were on first and second position respectively in both Oct 2024 and Sep 2023. BJP dominated the political ads on Radio with more than 50% share in Oct 2024 and more than 80% in Sep 2023.
