Oppo India has rolled out a campaign, 'Live It Your Way', featuring actor Janhvi Kapoor to highlight the features of its Reno16 Series.
The campaign comprises an ad film and reflects how today's youth are choosing to define success on their own terms, with technology serving as an enabler of authenticity, curiosity, meaningful experiences, and creative expression. It follows Rhea, a young aspiring musician played by Kapoor, who loses confidence after posting a video of herself singing online. A heartfelt message from her father, featuring a childhood photo of her performing fearlessly, rekindles her passion and inspires her to audition again. Set to a reimagined rendition of Jugni, the film traces her journey from self-doubt to self-belief, while naturally integrating Oppo's Reno16 Series and Enco Air5 as tools that enable creativity, self-expression and uninterrupted storytelling.
What we think about it: By anchoring the story in vulnerability and creative expression, Oppo makes its technology feel like an enabler rather than the hero. Yet, the arc from self-doubt to confidence is predictable, relying on emotional cues that audiences have seen many times before. Having said that, the reimagined song adds emotional heft, making the story more memorable than a typical feature-led smartphone ad.
