Cred has rolled out the last film, 'Look Beyond The Obvious', featuring actor Disha Patani as part of its ongoing celebrity-led educational campaign for Cred Foundation.
Set on an island with only Patani and a server for company, the film opens with Patani talking about how she loves a good reveal and how it grabs people's attention. She then reveals her face, which was hidden behind a book, before using the moment to draw viewers' attention to the importance of reading the fine print in financial documents. She highlights additional charges, including convenience, processing, platform and service fees, that often go unnoticed on loan and credit card statements, urging consumers to examine bills and financial terms carefully before committing. As a high-tide warning is shown in the background and the server is washed away by the rising water, the film closes by reiterating Patani's message: check before you pay.
What we think about it: The film uses the idea of a reveal to draw viewers in before delivering a practical message about hidden financial charges, with the rising tide adding a memorable visual payoff. While the celebrity-led approach worked well initially, particularly with Rakhi Sawant, the execution across subsequent films has begun to feel repetitive, making this a missed opportunity to evolve the creative treatment and deliver a more impactful message.
The film with Patani was released on 22 October.
