Formula 1 has rolled out ‘Five Lights’ (watch it here), a film designed to build anticipation for the second half of the season, which resumes on 21 August in the Netherlands.
The film features all 22 drivers, alongside the voice of actor and F1 fan Colin Farrell. Wing has conceptualised it.
The film focuses on the pre-race countdown. As each of the five lights illuminates, viewers gain insight into the drivers' mindsets.
What we think about it: F1 continues its overdrive in promoting the sport and growing its global audience base. This film builds on the excitement seen during the first half of the season and sets the tone for the second half. It is good to see that the main focus of the film is on the race drivers.
Emily Prazer, chief commercial officer, Formula 1, said, “Five Lights captures one of the most powerful moments in Formula 1, when anticipation, excitement and pressure all come together just before the race begins. As we return for the second half of what has already been an incredible season, we wanted to create something that reflects the emotion of our sport and the connection our fans feel with the teams and drivers every race weekend.”
The film will run until 13 September.
