Star Sports' IPL campaign

Star Sports has rolled out its campaign for the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League, which kicks off on 28 March.

The campaign is titled 'Toh Khelo Bindaas' (play without fear) and consists of two films. These focus on how the IPL helps fulfil dreams and show a parallel to real life stories which take inspiration from it. One film (above) shows a girl looking to step out of her village to go to Delhi for coaching. While the family resists, her father compares this to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who is shown scoring a 100 during an IPL match, and states that if his family wouldn't have let him go to a big city for coaching, he wouldn't have ever made it big.

The other film shows a story of a job rejection. The man encourages his son to try again and again, and succeed in the long run, just like RCB did in 2025, as it won the IPL for the first time after 18 years.

What we think about it: While somewhat predictable, the films do share the opportunity the IPL provides for the youth with a thoughtful message about never giving up.

The campaign was released on 14 March, and two films are currently on air.
