Goodrej Consumer Products has rolled out a campaign, ‘Macchar Hai, Mehman Nahi’.
The campaign comprises a film. The film highlights how India’s natural instinct for hospitality extends even to things we don’t intend - like mosquitoes. By showing stagnant water and open garbage bins, it points out how our everyday habits unknowingly create breeding grounds for them. Throughout the film, a background score plays like an anthem, reinforcing the message.
What we think about it: The advertisement cleverly uses the idea of India’s strong culture of hospitality to deliver a powerful public health message. The anthem-like background score runs throughout the film, adding emotion and impact, and makes the message more memorable and engaging.
