Mini India's campaign for Mini Countryman

Mini India has rolled out a campaign for Mini Countryman featuring actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Conceptualised by Sociowash Network, directed by Vikalp Chhabra and produced by Ankit Ahuja from Red Comet Films, the campaign brings together Kapoor and the Mini Countryman in a playful and witty exchange.

Set against a corporate setting, the film opens with Kapoor, the head of the ‘Bureau of Being Extra’, asserting why she's not surprised that some cars never made it out of the parking lot - they're simply not built for more.

Just then, the all-new Mini Countryman makes its entrance. Kapoor pauses, visibly taken aback by its larger-than-expected presence. But that's only the beginning. Every interaction with the Countryman uncovers another surprise - more space, more versatility, more capability, all while staying true to the unmistakable go-kart feeling that makes it a Mini.

What we think about it: The film’s strength is the way it uses Kapoor’s personality to bring the idea of ‘extra’ to life. Rather than making the product reveal purely functional, the ad creates a character-driven world where Kapoor becomes the perfect lens through which audiences discover the new Countryman. Her confident, expressive, and slightly exaggerated persona adds humour and energy to the narrative.

Shruti Arora, head - marketing, Mini, BMW Group India, said, “Mini has always stood for individuality, spontaneity, and an unmistakable sense of fun. With the all-new Mini Countryman, we wanted to celebrate the biggest Mini ever in a way that feels true to its bold personality. Kareena Kapoor Khan brings the perfect blend of wit and confidence, creating a natural fit that invites audiences to discover the Mini Countryman differently. Rather than creating a conventional automotive campaign, we showcased the Mini Countryman in a way only Mini can. As we continue to strengthen the Mini brand in India, we hope to welcome more fans into the Mini Family with this campaign.”

Ankit Ahuja, founder, Red Comet Films, said, "The idea was to let audiences discover the Mini Countryman alongside Kareena. We kept the film conversational and spontaneous, allowing her personality and the Countryman's character to spark off each other naturally. Every frame was crafted to feel effortless, cinematic and full of the great energy that makes Mini unique."
