MakeMyTrip's latest campaign featuring its brand ambassadors

MakeMyTrip has rolled out a campaign that tackles the real-life challenges of travel featuring its brand ambassadors and Bollywood actors, Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.

Comprising three ad films, the series aims to showcase the platform’s diverse offerings in accomodations, using humour and relatable situations to spotlight common traveller frustrations.

The first film takes viewers to an international hotel where Bhatt and Singh struggle to find something ‘wheatish’ and ‘round’ in a hilarious reference to the popular Indian delicacy, chole bhature, thereby humorously depicting the difficulties of locating familiar foods in a foreign country.

The second film showcases how overspending on accommodations can limit travel experiences as the duo humorously attempts to take free hotel amenities as souvenirs for relatives back home.

The final film seeks to depict the range of villa options the travel portal offers, as Bhatt and her friends anticipating a fully serviced villa are in for a rude shock. The film spins a funny take on setting the right expectations with their host, Singh expecting them to handle everything – from cooking the food, and cleaning the villa themselves.

What we think about it: MMT's latest campaign carries forward the quirky humour perfected in its earlier spots featuring the duo of Bhatt and Singh, while depicting real-world frustrations travelers face - from finding Indian food to the perfect stay with right amenities. The actors manage to bring a dose of humour to each situation with their brand of eccentricities, even as  they deliver a message that resonates.
