From her blogging days in 2008 to becoming an RJ and later finally launching MissMalini, at a time when platforms like Facebook and Twitter (now X) had just begun, Agarwal talks about how it all began for the platform, in a conversation with Manifest in our April issue.
What began as a hobby grew into a digital platform, making her one of India's first content creators, at a time when the term itself didn’t exist. Being one of the first influencers in the space, Agarwal feels a lot of interesting things are happening there.
"Currently, we are also seeing a lot of new things like employee-generated content or creator-generated content. Brands are also becoming very clever and smart about creating their own influencers as well. In the future, there's going to be AI creators and a whole bunch of new platforms will open.," she said.
Underlining the importance of authenticity and credibility, Agarwal noted that they do not do any sensational content at all. "I made a rule early on at MissMalini that we won't write anything we can't say to somebody's face," she added.
Now part of the Good Glam Group, Agarwal continues to mentor creators and build communities, particularly focusing on women entrepreneurs and aspiring influencers.
