Zlade's Father's Day campaign

Zlade has rolled out a campaign #DadscapingMadeEasy, ahead of Father's Day, which captures the essence of a modern-day father-son relationship.

The ad film opens in a kitchen where a son, pouring himself a drink, chats with his father about going on his first date in fourteen years. The son asks if his father is nervous, noting how much the dating scene has changed since his time. He then gives his father tips on modern grooming habits, emphasising how men today groom their entire bodies and gifts him a Zlade Ballistic trimmer. However, the film concludes with a twist, revealing that the father already owns a Zlade trimmer. It ends with the memorable tagline, "Apne baap ko mat sikha" (Don't teach your dad).

What we think about it: The film depicts the evolving dynamics between fathers and sons, wrapped in a humorous and heartfelt message. The cheeky ending with a popular phrase was the cherry on top!

Nikhil Narayanan, head of creative strategy and brand director, Zlade, said, "We almost didn't make this film, because we aren't too keen on chasing topicals. But once this idea took life, in a cosy bar in Kochi during our IPL film shoot, we knew we couldn't let it go. From a relevance perspective, it was bang on - both as a conversation piece and a product fit. This is a subject that is not portrayed in ads as much as it should be - thanks to the "boys don't cry" garbage that's been shoved down our throats. And we thought this was a fitting occasion to voice that. I'd like to drop a special mention to M&M Films for pulling off a lovely-looking film on a shoestring budget and in a blink."

The film was rolled out across social media platforms on 14 June.
