Oppo India has rolled out a campaign '#VishwasKaDeep,' (Lamp of Trust) ahead of Diwali.
Conceptualised by Famous Innovations, the campaign comprises a film. The film showcases the unique celebrations of the festival across different states and cultures in India. The journey starts in Himachal Pradesh where in some communities Diwali is celebrated almost a month later, known as Budhi Diwali. Then, it continues to Goa, showcasing the Narak Chaturdashi celebrations. Finally, it comes to an end in the sand-dusted lands of Rajasthan, where the protagonist is travelling to his hometown in Jodhpur amidst a fierce sandstorm. Guided by a Diwali lamp lit by his mother on the rooftop, the film then celebrates 'Thar Ki Diwali', featuring the mesmerising Kathputli art form.
What we think about it: Through a captivating narrative, the storytelling creates a powerful connection with its viewers and instils a sense of shared sentiment, trust and hope for Diwali. Centred around, 'Har Diwali, Vishwas Ka Deep Jalati Hai,' the ad perfectly captures the essence of the festival, while highlighting the brand's offerings and its reliability and durability in capturing cherished moments. The film stands out from the usual festive season ads.
Karan Dua, head of brand marketing, Oppo India, said, “With #VishwasKaDeep, we are bringing together the diverse cultural essence of Diwali, and how the light of trust and hope unites families, friends, and communities. We have also created an interactive microsite that allows smartphone users to explore Diwali from various regions and create their AI-driven festive postcards. The sentiment of trust and resilience aligns with Oppo India’s commitment to delivering premium user experiences through durable and reliable smartphones.”
Mithila Saraf, CEO, Famous Innovations, said, "We are very excited about this campaign as it is a profound departure from the typical portrayal of Diwali in our country. In our pop culture and collective memory, Diwali has become just a template of the same kind of decor, gifts and celebrations. However, Diwali in India is very diverse and all its varied nuances need to be represented equally. We are grateful to Oppo for the opportunity to explore this inclusive, vibrant and engaging idea. It reinforces Oppo's place in India as a brand that is loved and trusted in every corner of the country."
The campaign has been launched across social media platforms and cinemas and will also be on television at a later stage.
