Amazon Music India has rolled out a campaign, 'Hello India. Love, Amazon Music', following the rollout of Amazon Music Unlimited in the country. At the heart of the campaign is Antakshari, the quintessential game that has long brought Indians together through music.
Conceptualised by Manja and directed by filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, the ad film taps into the nostalgia associated with the game, weaving together moments that have defined generations. Featuring singers Sonu Nigam and Usha Uthup, the film celebrates the simple joy of singing together. From families gathering on terraces during power cuts to sing their favourite songs, to spirited house parties and train journeys with friends, the film captures how Antakshari has been a constant across shared experiences. A medley of instantly recognisable songs spanning languages, generations and regions ties these moments together, reflecting the diversity of India's musical culture. By placing Antakshari at its centre, the film pays tribute to India's enduring relationship with music and the memories created through songs shared across generations.
What we think about it: The campaign wisely lets nostalgia do the heavy lifting, using Antakshari as a cultural shorthand for India's enduring relationship with music. By focusing on shared experiences rather than product features, Amazon Music creates a brand film that feels more like a tribute to collective memories than a conventional streaming service advertisement.
Divya Chadha, head - marketing, Amazon Music India, says, “Music has always had the power to bring people together, and few traditions capture that as beautifully as Antakshari. For many of us, it’s where our love for music first began—through moments shared with family and friends, singing songs that have stayed with us for years. With this campaign, we wanted to celebrate that timeless tradition and the incredible diversity of music that India loves across languages, genres, artists and generations. It’s our way of bringing to life the joy of discovering, remembering, and sharing the songs that connect us. At Amazon Music, we’re building the home for every listener and every soundtrack in India. We hope this film reminds people of the joy, connection and memories that only music can create.”
Arvind Krishnan, founder and CEO, Manja, added, “Antakshari felt like the perfect cultural metaphor for Amazon Music in India. For generations, it has brought people together through memory, spontaneity and the shared joy of one song leading to another. We wanted to draw from that unmistakably Indian cultural trope and create a narrative that feels familiar, participative and rooted in the way India has always enjoyed music."
The campaign will be rolled out across digital media and out-of-home placements.
