The cricketer who led India to an ODI World Cup win in November last year, rose to stardom with her 171 not out against Australia in the semi-final during the 2017 World Cup. India fell short of winning the tournament then, but many believe this knock sparked significant interest among young Indian girls, paving the way for the 2025 victory.

“We saw many girls pursuing cricket as a career after that. It’s not only for India, but also playing for their states. We also saw the emergence of more leagues like the WPL too,” she said. While the 2017 innings got more interest from players, the 2025 triumph led to more brand interest. However, Kaur believes there’s plenty of room for more brands to join in and invest in the sport and athletes. She joked about hoping to secure more endorsements after her appearance at the festival.

Among the work she has done, she didn’t pick a favourite piece, stating that doing so would disappoint the others. Being the captain, brands look to pick her for roles where she is seen as a leader. “I’d love to show other sides of my personality and do some fun work. So, for the creative people looking to get me in their next brand deal, let’s do something fun together. We’ve done loads of serious work; it’s time to do something fun,” she signed off.
