Häfele India has rolled out a new film as part of its continuing campaign ‘Maximising what matters the most’ with brand ambassador and veteran cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Building on the product-led storytelling of the previous films, the latest chapter uses a cricket reference to demonstrate the functionality of Häfele’s dishwasher through an everyday narrative. The film features Tendulkar alongside Ajay Bhaiya, who plays a trusted member of his domestic staff, picking off from its earlier familiar slice-of-life storytelling.
Drawing on Tendulkar’s iconic association with the century, the narrative takes a humorous approach, playing on his well-known history of falling short of the milestone, including being dismissed for 99 on more than one occasion in international cricket.
What we think about it: The cricket-to-product connection gives an otherwise functional dishwasher proposition a light-hearted hook. However, the idea feels underdeveloped, with the 99-to-100 analogy doing most of the creative heavy lifting. While the product benefit comes through, the narrative does not quite build enough emotional or comedic momentum to make the idea as memorable as the celebrity association suggests it could be.
Frank Schloeder, managing director, Häfele South Asia, said, “At Häfele, our approach has always been to create solutions that respond to how people experience their spaces. As lifestyles evolve, so do the needs and expectations people have from their homes. Today, value goes beyond functionality to include how a space reflects individual preferences and ways of living. Through this next phase of our campaign with Sachin Tendulkar, we are bringing this philosophy to life by demonstrating how thoughtful solutions can combine everyday convenience with greater choice and personalisation.”
Shweta Rangra, vice president, marketing, Häfele India, added, “Our approach with this phase of the campaign is to turn strong product propositions into simple, memorable stories that audiences can immediately connect with. For the film featuring Häfele Dishwashers, the capacity to clean up to 100 utensils in a single cycle gave us an interesting creative opportunity to draw on Sachin’s iconic association with a century, turning a functional product benefit into a distinctive communication idea. Across the two films, we are bringing different aspects of the Häfele experience to life, spanning functionality and the freedom to personalise spaces, while remaining connected by our central thought of ‘Maximising what matters the most.’”
