HDFC Life board approves re-appointment of Vibha Padalkar as managing director and CEO

The five-year term of Padalkar will start from September 2026, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals.

HDFC Life Insurance Company has announced that its board of directors has approved the re-appointment of Vibha Padalkar as managing director and chief executive officer for a period of five years, effective 12 September 2026. 

Padalkar has been associated with HDFC Life since 2008 and currently serves as its MD and CEO. 

The decision was taken at the company’s board meeting held on 21 April 2026, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. 

The re-appointment is subject to approval from shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting, as well as clearance from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

She has held multiple leadership roles within the organisation over the years, including contributing to its financial framework and playing a role in its public listing in 2017.

Padalkar has also been involved in industry-level initiatives through her association with the Life Insurance Council and holds professional memberships with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The company confirmed that Padalkar has not been debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other authority.
