IndusInd General Insurance Company, formerly Reliance General Insurance Company, has appointed Sharad Mathur as its managing director and chief executive officer, following statutory approvals. 

The company is part of the IndusInd International Holdings Group.

Mathur will oversee the company’s growth and transformation, with a focus on customer experience, digital innovation, insurance inclusion, distribution partnerships and governance.

He moves from Universal Sompo General Insurance, where he was managing director and CEO. 

Mathur, in a career spanning over three decades, has also worked with SBI General Insurance and ICICI Lombard, among others.
