Nine years after its debut flight from Delhi to Mumbai, Vistara will cease operations as it merges with Air India on 12 November.
It has some special plans for its last few flights, particularly for the Mumbai-New Delhi leg which will be flying certain public figures. Certain shows are planned for it on arrival in New Delhi.
In terms of the change, while it will be merged into Air India, the Vistara planes with an airline code of UK will be identified by a new Air India code, AI 2. So, a Vistara flight with a code of UK 943 will now be rebranded as AI 2943.
While the airline was servicing 50 routes overall, not all of them will be transferred to Air India. Certain routes will be temporarily stopped, and a few will also be terminated.
The Club Vistara miles will also be merged with Air India's Flying Returns program, according to media reports.
The Club Vistara ID will remain active till 11 November, after which a new 'Flying Returns' ID will be issued. For those with an existing 'Flying Returns' ID, the Club Vistara points will be added to the account.
Over the last week, the brand, through social media has been penning its 'last thoughts'.
