The rebrand comes amid layoffs across sectors and growing focus on employability and job-ready skills.

upGrad has rebranded its network of Learning Support Centres as upGrad X, shifting the focus towards career-linked learning, industry-aligned skills and employment outcomes.

The company said the network facilitated more than 500 placements over the last three quarters across e-commerce, data analytics, AI-focused businesses, IT services and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).

Under the new identity, the centres will combine in-person mentorship, hands-on training, peer learning, industry exposure and career preparation with upGrad’s digital learning ecosystem. The model is aimed at bridging the gap between learners’ existing skills and those sought by employers.

The rebrand comes amid layoffs across sectors and growing focus on employability and job-ready skills. As the network expands across cities, upGrad X will offer in-person learning support, proctored assessments and programmes designed around industry requirements.

The company is also broadening its programme portfolio across data, technology, AI and marketing. It will add the Certification in Global and Investment Banking Operations (CGIBO) for learners seeking careers in finance, banking and investment operations.

Pamit Anand, CEO, upGrad X, said, “India's employability gap runs across every discipline, and AI is widening it. Technical skills will matter, but so will judgment, trust and accountability, especially in fields like AI, finance and banking. Employers need people who are ready to work from day one. That is the gap upGrad X is built to close. We are moving from a learning centre to an employability engine: hands-on training, mentorship and career preparation, all tied to placement outcomes. Over 500 placements in three quarters show the model works. With a growing network and new programmes like AI Pro and Certification in Global & Investment Banking Operations (CGIBO), our direction is clear: career-linked learning delivered via short-duration skilling programs and a focus on job-readiness."
