Ad space per publication witnessed a growth of 17% in Jan-Mar'24: TAM AdEx

Ad space per publication witnessed a growth of 17%, in print, during Jan-Mar 2024, according to TAM’s AdEx Quarterly Print Advertising report.

With the service sector contributing the most at 16%, the other leading sectors were auto, education, banking/ finance/ investment and retail. 

The top five categories contributing to the growth of print advertising are cars, properties/real estate, two-wheelers, coaching/competitive exams and hospitals/clinics.

SBS Biotech overtook Maruti Suzuki as the top advertiser, more than 67,000 brands advertised during the time period.

Other highlights of the report:

  • Compared to Jan-Mar’23, ad space per publication observed a growth of 10% in Jan-Mar’24.
  • Telecom was the only new entrant among the top sectors in this quarter.
  • With the top ten categories contributing 40% share of ad space, multiple courses and cellular phones- smartphones were the new entrants.
