MakeMyTrip has rolled out two new films featuring actors Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
Conceptualised by Moonshot, the films underscore the simplicity and convenience of booking flights and hotels for international travel.
In the first film (above), newlyweds Bhatt and Singh discuss their apprehensions about a 'first-time' experience. As the story unfolds, viewers discover it's their first international trip. They opt for MakeMyTrip for flight and hotel bookings, sharing planning duties eagerly. The film highlights their enthusiastic and equal approach to travel planning.
The second film depicts Singh, as an international spy, who discovers a wanted criminal's location. Bhatt, his commander, reveals the mission in London. Singh, in his comedic style, suggests letting the criminal go to avoid an international trip. Bhatt introduces him to MakeMyTrip for hassle-free bookings, easing his concerns.
What we think about it: While they retained the Bollywood-esque flair characteristic of previous editions, Bhatt and Singh's on-screen presence seemed to lack the novelty factor that captivated viewers in the past. Additionally, the narrative lacked compelling elements, failing to fully engage the audience and leaving the overall impact subdued.
Raj Rishi Singh, chief marketing officer and chief business officer - corporate, MakeMyTrip, said, ”We at MakeMyTrip believe in making the world more accessible, one trip at a time. In the past few months, we have introduced a suite of tools, features and benefits, some of them industry-firsts, designed for every international traveller, be it a first-timer or a seasoned globetrotter. Our aim is to ensure that everyone can partake in these benefits, making their travel booking and post-sales experience seamless and enjoyable. Our new films highlight the value addition we bring to the table, demonstrating how MakeMyTrip can be a game-changer when it comes to international bookings.”
