WhatsApp has released a campaign, 'WhatsApp Good Mornings', featuring Zakir Khan, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Aakash Gupta and Gurleen Pannu.
Conceptualised by OML, the campaign comprises four videos where each comedian in their unique style, talks about the privacy features offered by the app.
In the first film, Rath talks about the wrath of spam callers and how WhatsApp's features can help silence these unknown callers.
Khan spotlights the 'Block & Report' feature by educating his father about scammers and fraudsters.
Pannu teaches her overprotective mother about the 'Two-Step Verification' feature and how it can help keep hackers away.
Gupta emphasises the importance of 'Meta Verified Badge' and how one should only trust vendors who are verified on the app.
What we think about it: The ad has it all - humour, relatability, creativity and entertainment. In each of the film's narratives, the comedians' unique style combined with engaging storytelling makes the ad films fun to watch. Many times, a film manages to capture the attention of the audience but fails to send the brand message across. But in this series, each film seamlessly integrates the brand message of educating users about the privacy features, while perfectly leveraging the power and style of each comedian.
Vyom Prashant, director- consumer marketing, Meta, "Privacy is at the core of WhatsApp. Over the years, we have added layers of security and protection with innovative features that empower our users to communicate securely & confidently on WhatsApp, including engaging with businesses they choose to. ‘Good Morning’ messages on WhatsApp are a shared experience for our users across India, and we partnered with OML to build upon this familiar concept, with humour and levity to explain how easy it is to protect oneself from spam and scams on WhatsApp. ”
Pankaj Malani, senior vice president- revenue, Only Much Louder, said, “The team at OML Studios wanted to elevate the conversation about how WhatsApp is protecting its users' conversations with loved ones from unwanted scammers. We set out to blend humour with purpose and highlight the importance of privacy while messaging in a light-hearted and relatable manner. We leveraged the intimacy that 'Good Morning' messages hold for everyone and kicked off the series with an amazing pool of talent, crafting engaging narratives that resonated with diverse audiences. Each message was designed to not only create awareness but also to foster connection, ensuring that every 'Good Morning' message resonated with warmth, all while underscoring the important role that privacy plays in our digital interactions.”
