Vi's campaign

Vi has rolled out a film following its rebrand in the country.

The official music video features actor Rohit Saraf, comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath, content creator Niharika NM, and journalists Kamiya Jain and Kunal Vijayakar. The film opens with Saraf, who is shooting an ad, saying, ‘V.I. has changed’. The director, played by Rath, immediately says, ‘Cut!’ and asks him to do it again. The shot rolls, and Saraf says, “Vai has changed.” Rath says to cut again. After a few retakes, agitated Saraf finally turns to Rath and asks what he is doing wrong. He tells him that he is pronouncing ‘Vi’ wrong. The ad then sets off a fun, energetic song about how to pronounce it correctly. As the song breaks out, more people join in, including Jain, Vijayakar and Niharika, turning the pronunciation lesson into a lively, entertaining musical moment.

What we think about it: The ad is fairly simple, and the idea feels relatively straightforward. The song and ensemble of familiar faces add energy and make the message a bit engaging.

The film released on 5 September.
