Navneet Education has rolled out an ad film for Teacher’s Day that carries forward its initiative of honouring educators by advocating for their rightful recognition with the title ‘Tr.’. Now in its third year, the ‘#Tr.ForTeachers’ campaign aims to bestow teachers with a professional title akin to those in other noble professions, such as doctors (Dr.), captains (Capt.), or judges (Justice).
Conceptualised by FCB Interface, the film highlights teachers' invaluable role in shaping the future, and showcases them as unsung heroes whose contribution in our lives often goes unrecognised. Through a slice-of-life classroom scenario of parents meeting their child’s teacher, it depicts how a simple yet powerful gesture of a nameplate titled ‘Tr.’ before the latter’s name can symbolise the respect and recognition that teachers deserve.
What we think of it: While it is commendable that Navneet continues its efforts to give teachers the recognition they rightfully deserve with the title ‘Tr.’, the campaign—now in its third year—has little new to offer. Given that the previous two editions were effective in delivering the message, adding a bit more creative thought to the latest edition could have enhanced its impact.
Devish Gala, head - branding, Navneet Education, said, “We at Navneet believe that schooling creates the foundation of education, and teachers are the ultimate guiding force in a student’s journey. A teacher’s job is one of the most difficult, yet it doesn’t always receive the recognition it deserves. #Tr.ForTeachers is our way of paying tribute to the spirit of teachers and saluting their noble profession.”
Shishir Kapre, group executive creative director, FCB Interface, added, “The film is a poignant tribute to the unsung heroes of our society. It captures the essence of a teacher's dedication, their unwavering belief in their students, and the profound impact they have on shaping young minds. Our intent was simple, to make people realise that teachers are not just educators, but mentors, confidantes, and catalysts for change. And it’s high time we should help the teachers to get ‘Tr.’. As a title before their names.”
