Advertising space in print grew by 1% in 2024 compared to 2023, but by 58% over 2020, according to a report by TAM.
Auto sector led print with 15.2% share of total ad space followed by services with 14.9% during the year. In 2023, education was leading the category.
Maruti Suzuki was the top advertiser during the year, while Honda Activa H Smart was the top brand to have advertised during the year.
Overall, more than 78,000 advertisers and 1,04,000 brands advertised on the medium.
Jacket-full page was the most preferred ad position by advertisers on print during the year.
Sales promotion ads accounted for 32% of total ad space.
Diwali was the most significant festival for print advertising, contribution 28% of total ad space in 2024.
