Shambhu Venkatrao (Bobby) Sista, from Sista Advertising (which was sold to Saatchi in 1998), passed away earlier today (27 July).

Among his many accomplishments, Sista was honoured with the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. 

Sista started his career with stints in Suhrid-Geigy and Readers Digest before joining his father's agency Sista Advertising, which was founded in 1934. Bobby's father Venkatrao Sista had passed away in an air-crash in 1951.

Sista quit advertising to support social causes after the agency was sold to Saatchi in 1998. In 2002, he founded Population First, which runs Laadli, a campaign to empower girls.
