Airbnb has rolled out a campaign featuring actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna to capture a more personal way to travel, offering a glimpse into their first getaway after their wedding.

Conceptualised by One Hand Clap, the campaign comprises an ad film. 

Set in Koh Samui, the film follows the newlywed couple Mandanna and Deverakonda, who choose a private Airbnb villa where they slow down and simply be. What unfolds are candid, unscripted moments such as quiet mornings, music in the kitchen, long afternoons by the pool, woven together with voiceovers from their wedding notes, adding intimacy to everyday scenes. Lines like “My husband… still getting used to saying that” and “My best friend. That part hasn’t changed” ground the narrative in something deeply personal. The oceanfront villa, with its expansive spaces and infinity pool, becomes central to the experience, blending the comfort of home with a luxury escape. Through this film, the brand aspires to reinforce its core idea: it’s not just where you stay, but how you choose to stay.

What we think about it:  Works because it resists spectacle, letting quiet, unscripted moments and personal voice-overs carry the emotional weight. In doing so, it naturally ties Airbnb’s proposition to a feeling of intimacy and belonging, rather than overtly selling the stay.
