Google is clear that it wants to be bold with the use of artificial intelligence in India. In a conversation with Manifest in our January issue, Neha Barjatya, marketing director, Google India, revealed that while the technology company will be bold, it will also be responsible while using it.
"We have seen that India is one of the countries where there's more positivity around AI. We are a country that is looking to experiment with it to see how it makes life better," she said.
Barjatya claimed that a study revealed that when used effectively, AI can reduce working hours upto eight hours in a week.
She also stated how Google's Gemini is being used by independent content creators that don't have 'big teams' to bounce off ideas related to scripts.
During the conversation, Barjatya emphasised on the need of education for those using AI.
"Is there education to be done? Yes, or sure, on how one can use Generative AI. Prompting and how one can make their prompts more meaningful is needed too. Gemini is powering a lot of our AI but it's not everything. We have AI solutions which could be around flood forecasting or health solutions. There is a lot of other work being done by the team which is not necessarily powered by Gemini," she said.
Along with Al, Barjatya also spoke about how marketing efforts for the Pixel 9 have been ramped up, the Internet Saathi initiative and plans for 2025.
