Spotify India's 'Discover on Spotify' campaign.

Spotify has rolled out a campaign, 'Discover on Spotify', using iconic moments from history to highlight its music discovery features.

The campaign comprises two ad films.

In the first film (above), 'Fall for Song Radio', Isaac Newton is shown sitting under a tree, recreating the famous story of an apple falling on his head and leading to his discovery of gravity. Seated nearby is a modern-day girl listening to music. Moments after his discovery of gravity, Newton stumbled upon another discovery, music. He begins dancing to a playlist that perfectly matches his vibe.

In the second film, 'Eureka! It's a Mix', the story centres on the Greek mathematician and physicist Archimedes in a bathhouse, recreating the moment behind his famous 'Eureka!' discovery. Alongside him is Aaryan, a modern-day character who has discovered a new playlist called Shower Mix. Archimedes is then seen grooving to the songs Aaryan is listening to, making his own musical discovery.

What we think about it: The playful juxtaposition of Isaac Newton and Archimedes with modern playlists delivers the product message clearly, using humour and nostalgia to keep viewers engaged throughout.

The campaign was released on 13 June on YouTube and Instagram.
